Parent Infant Partnership (PIP) UK Policy Work
PIP UK facilitates the 1001 Critical Days Campaign nationally as well as being a joint secretariat with the WAVE Trust for the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) Conception to Age 2. The APPG group chaired by Tim Loughton MP was established to promote a holistic approach to the antenatal and postnatal period, specifically with regards to the early years and infant mental health; to hold evidence-based inquiries into best practice for the 1001 critical days to help policymakers make informed decisions on provision in this period; and to uphold cross-party consensus for this age group.
In the last Parliament the APPG group held a number of enquiries including a perinatal enquiry which brought together the science and policy of the conception to age two period and to launch a report before the General Election 2015. The APPG launched the 'Building Great Britons' report at Speaker's House in Parliament that was attended by over 150 people including the Speaker of the House of Commons.
